Minneapolis, Minn., band The Fringe has won our 9th Annual Surrogate Bands Pink Floyd Cover Contest.
The group took the prize with its recording of “Echoes (Part 1).”
The Fringe is an experimental rock band featuring Bridger Fruth, Christian Herzog, Joe Sullivan and Miles Millard. The majority of their winning entry was recording in a single live take at a Minneapolis studio.
This past week, The Fringe had their winning entry played on “Floydian Slip” episode #1212 — a special episode of our weekly Floyd radio show that was devoted entirely to other bands’ recordings of Floyd music.
The group also receives $200 in merchandise from the official webstore of Pink Floyd, shop.pinkfloyd.com.

Submit your own recording of a Floyd song for a chance to win some great prizes and have your song broadcast on the “Floydian Slip” radio show.
The winner gets $200 in Pink Floyd merchandise from The Official Web Store of Pink Floydand their recording played the week of July 1 on show #1212 — a special all-covers “Floydian Slip” titled “Surrogate Bands.”

P-Floyd, a Pink Floyd tribute band from Dalarna, Sweden, has won our 8th Annual Surrogate Bands Pink Floyd Cover Contest.
The group took the prize with its lounge-styled recording of “Shine on You Crazy Diamond.”
Formed in 1993 by guitarist Jan Stumsner, the group has sold-out concert halls in Sweden and Scandinavia. Its 2016 shows at Dalhalla earned the band “Live Act of the Year” at the Dalecarlia Music Awards.
