The first in a series of guides, this Floyd “bookazine” contains 146 pages of classic interviews and insights into the band.

Already on sale in the U.K., the guide will hit U.S. newsstands in mid- to late-May.

Surrogate Bands Pink Floyd cover contest accepting entries

Doors are open for Floydian Slip’s 5th Annual Surrogate Bands Pink Floyd Cover Contest.

Submit your own recording of a Pink Floyd song for a chance to win prizes and have your song air on the “Floydian Slip” radio show.

One first prize winner will get $200 in Pink Floyd merchandise from The Official Web Store of Pink Floyd.

And … we’ll air their recording during a special all-covers edition of the “Floydian Slip” radio show: Our “Surrogate Bands” special will run for a week starting June 29 on all 66 “Floydian Slip” affiliate stations.

Second prize, selected by random drawing, is a Pink Floyd periodical package including four magazines featuring the group or its members on the cover: Uncut (November 2013), Guitar World (Holiday 2013), Record Collector (August 2013) and Classic Rock presents Prog (September 2010).

David Gilmour‘s new album will be released in September, but, so far, the album’s title hasn’t been announced.

A couple weeks ago we invited you to offer suggestions. We’ve picked our favorite from all entries:

Contest: Name David Gilmour’s new album

News of a new David Gilmour album was confirmed with an official announcement today. But what was missing from the announcement was a title.

What do you think David’s new album should be called?

Give us your best suggestion, and you’ll be registered to win a Floyd CD or book of your choice from the “Floydian Slip” prize closet.

There’s no right or wrong answer. “Floydian Slip” senior management will convene to ponder all entries in our secret basement broadcasting lab, and award the prize to the person with the suggestion we like best.

We’ll keep up this contest through March 15, or until the official album title is made public, whichever comes first.
