Join us this week for Floydian Slip #1074 for some rare, previously-unreleased tracks from “The Early Years” boxset out Friday, November 11th:
- Floyd live in Amsterdam in 1969
- An early version of “Echoes”
- The band recorded by the BBC in 1969
- Plus … your chance to win a copy of “Cre/ation” — a 2-CD sampler of the boxset
“Floydian Slip” is heard across the 75 stations of our Random Precision Radio Network. Learn where and when to listen.
Seabirds isn’t included in the boxset, though it is listed in the liner notes as being included. The actual track purporting to be Seabirds is an instrumental, which sounds like the song Quicksilver from the Album More. This mistake should be rectified and the correct track for Seabirds should be released for us to correct this huge error. What a Mess up on the part of pf’s team. I really hope they release it, and retract the label of Seabirds from the track, since it isn’t the correct song.
I totally agree, this is a major heartbreak for the real fans. With the 50th anniversary of Piper coming up and the copyright law expiring, let’s hope we will get “Seabirds” and other gems in the years to come.
Craig,
Just wanted to say thanks for an AWESOME Floydian Slip #1074! Great to hear “In The Beeches,” which I’d just been reading about in Uncut magazine’s excellent cover story this month. Also thanks for sharing “Nothing Part 14” and other tracks from this monstrously extensive — and, unfortunately for many of us, prohibitively expensive — box set being released Friday.
Also, great selections for the non- “Early Years” material. Really enjoyed Gilmour from ’78, and who could tire of “Not Now John” or “Time”? The latter even prompted my wife to utter, “We should listen to more Pink Floyd.” Score!
