Zenith Classic Rock, the newest affiliate station to carry our weekly “Floydian Slip” broadcast, is looking for assistance to obtain a permanent license to broadcast over the air.
The station, our first affiliate in Ireland, has streamed on the Net continuously since 2007. The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI) has also granted the station a handful of temporary licenses to broadcast over the air on the FM and AM bands, as well as via digital audio broadcasting (DAB) format.
The station’s current license allows it to broadcast over the air for 10 weekends. That license expires in another couple weeks.
Zenith’s hoping to receive a license to continue its over the air service permanently and full-time, and is asking listeners to petition the BAI on its behalf.
Please consider sending the BAI a politely-worded request to allow Zenith to continue to serve southeastern Ireland with its eclectic blend of classic rock. You can email the BAI at info@bai.ie. CC station director Andy Linton (andyl@totalbroadcast.net). Or snail mail them at: 2-5 Warrington Place, Dublin 2, Ireland UK.
