Nathan Gosnell has won our 11th annual Surrogate Bands Pink Floyd Cover Contest.
Gosnell, from Montrose, Iowa, took the prize with his recording of “Comfortably Numb.”
A multi-instrumentalist since he was 10, he can be seen and heard performing with his bands StumpTown and Big Guitars.
This past week, Gosnell had his winning entry played on “Floydian Slip” episode #1420 — a special episode of our weekly Floyd radio show that was devoted entirely to other artists’ recordings of Floyd music.
He also receives $200 in merchandise from the official webstore of Pink Floyd, shop.pinkfloyd.com.
Thanks to everyone who submitted entries to this year’s contest.
Congrats Nathan! After a months long illness, and a SUPER INCREDIBLE fundraiser today… we just received this news that Nathan won! We love you Nathan.. Keep playing the music you love.
Thanks Craig for the very good choice in our pal Nathan Gosnell.
We’ve been friends since he was a kid. I managed his first theater performance in Keokuk Iowa’s Grand Theater.
You’ll never know how timely this achievement is.
Nathan has always been the kind of guy that would give you the shirt off his back. He is an amazing musician.
I’ve been playing Nathan’s music on my radio show going on five years now, and am so happy after all he’s been through that he’s been heard by such a large audience as Floydian Slip attracts. His talent demands it, and I am very proud of my most deserving friend.
