Former home of Rick Wright for sale

A Cote D’Azur, France, home once owned by Pink Floyd keyboardist Rick Wright is for sale.

The 6-bedroom, 5-bath Provencal-style property is situated on 1.3 acres of land near the commune of Le Rouret. Asking price is €1.39 million, approximately US $1.55 million.

In 2009, the Daily Mail reported Wright had a net worth of £23.7 million (US $31.6 million) at the time of his death in September ’08.

The paper also reported Wright’s children James and Gala inherited the French property at the time of his passing.

“Floydian Slip” coming to KQRQ (Rapid City, SD)

“Floydian Slip” will begin airing on KQRQ 92.3 FM in Rapid City, S.D., starting Sunday, Sept. 11. The station will carry the show Sundays at 11 p.m. MT.

“Q92.3” is an 86,000-watt classic hits station serving Rapid City, the country’s 254th largest metro market, according to Neilson Audio, formerly Arbitron.

Nearly 75 affiliate stations have joined the show’s Random Precision Radio Network, created seven years ago when we began syndicating our show from our Vermont studio.

Vintage BBC recording, video released

Pink Floyd has released a new video featuring an early performance of “Grantchester Meadows.”

The video includes film of the band’s Roger Waters, David Gilmour and Rick Wright in a 1970 KQED (San Francisco) performance and new nature footage shot by Aubrey “Po” Powell of Hipgnosis, set to audio from a BBC performance recorded May 12, 1969.

The song comes from the band’s 1969 album “Ummagumma.”

The video is the first taste of the rarities coming our way when the group releases ‘The Early Years 1965-1972″ boxset Nov. 11.
