I am not at all surprised that Roger has a nomination. I saw the original concert and film in 1980. This film absolutely blew me away with the ultimate emotions of fear, grief, and despair over the plight of war and the demise of a life with positive qualities.
I cried and left the theatre feeling compassion and applauded Roger for his genuineness.
Finally…. Roger Waters is getting his due recognition by The Grammy committee. I have followed his work for 35 years. His opus defies categorization. I loved all his shows starting with The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking.I am a visual artist and his work has been playing thematically in my studio for as long as I can remember. He is a master poet, composer, and conceptual artist; as well as one of the very few male rockers who is willing to shed humanitarian empathic tears in his work. For once in many years I will watch the Grammy Awards; as most of the musical production of today is all base instinct and backbeat sampling; Waters remains, a distinct gem amongst much useless musical ore.Kudos Mr. Waters Kudos..
