We received word this week that WXRC 95.7 FM (“The Ride”) in Charlotte, NC, will drop “Floydian Slip” from its weekend lineup at the end of March.
Station owner/manager Dave Lingafelt told us, “It’s time for us to move to something else in our weekend programming,” before adding, “We’ve been proud to carry your show.”
We were in talks with Lingafelt for a year, to the day, before he agreed to give the show a try on The Ride.
“Floydian Slip” has aired Saturday nights at 11 EST on the station since April 2, 2011. The station serves the Charlotte-Gastonia-Rock Hill market. It’s the nation’s 24th largest market as determined by Arbitron, and our show’s largest.
If you listen to “Floydian Slip” on The Ride and want to pass feedback to Lingafelt, his contact information is on the station’s contact page. Take the “Office contacts” link.
Sent a note in… why don’t they just move into a different slot? Radio stations have so many pockets where they play terrible sets of music: they ought to fill those with shows!
Agreed. There are many hours in a day (and night).
You’ve gotta read between the lines haven’t you! I’m gratified that Lingafelt is not one of my close friends!
