Polly Samson helps rescue drowning man

Posted January 28, 2012 by Floydian Slip

This past Wednesday, Polly Samson, wife of Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour, helped rescue a man drowning near the couple’s East Sussex home.

Reports vary, but Samson is said to have aided the man who was flailing in the sea and, who, after rescue, refused help by trying to return to the water.

The man, who was in his 40s, was eventually taken by police to Royal Sussex County Hospital for mental evaluation.

Gilmour and the couple’s 21-year-old son, Charlie, reportedly assisted in the rescue.

Samson is a writer and photographer.

The family that saves lives at sea together, stays together. Looks like Dave picked a real winner in Polly, she’s beautiful, talented, classy AND willing to save the life of a crazy man! Pink Floyd’s music certainly helped save MY life.
