Long-time Pink Floyd sleeve designer Storm Thorgerson has released “The Raging Storm,” a new coffee table book featuring output over the past four years from his most recent d/b/a, Storm Studios.
Thorgerson was a founding member of design team Hipgnosis, and had a hand in creating nearly every Floyd album cover, as well as the band’s solo members’, numerous reissues for the band, and iconic sleeves for groups such as Genesis, 10cc, Led Zeppelin and others.
“The Raging Storm” is available in two editions: a hardcover version for £34.99; and a deluxe limited edition that includes a giclee print of Biffy Clyro‘s “Only Revolutions” for £395.
Both are 160 pages and include art produced for Floyd, Biffy Clyro, Pendulum, Wombats, Shpongle, Disco Biscuits, Powderfinger, Muse, Steve Miller and others.
Thorgerson has also created monthly calendar wallpaper available for free download.
It’s all available at the online Raging Storm store.
You can read our 1997 interview with Thorgerson at the time of the release of his book “Taken by Storm” online.

This Day in Music will release a Pink Floyd iPhone/iPad app tomorrow.
The app is officially sanctioned by the band, according to the company, and will feature 100,000 words devoted to Floyd for 366 days and will sell for £1.99 ($2.99).
This is the second app from the Hayfield, Derbyshire, U.K. company, whose other assets include a Web site and book. It released its popular Led Zeppelin app in ’10 and is planning a third to be devoted to Bob Dylan.
In addition to information on the Floyd’s activities for every day of the year, the app will include trivia questions, notes about every Floyd studio track, loads of photos and graphics, embedded video (“Point Me at the Sky”), a ringtone (“Shine on You Crazy Diamond”) and wallpaper.
This Day in Pink Floyd will be available in the iTunes Store Nov. 14. For more information, visit the company’s Web site.

Roger Waters will return to North America beginning in May for 36 additional dates of his “Wall” tour.
Waters had hinted more U.S. and Canadian dates were in store for the new year, and indicated those concerts would be at larger venues, such as outdoor stadiums — ironic, considering his growing distaste for such venues in the ’70s was his impetus for writing “The Wall.” The schedule made public today confirms that:
