We’re giving away a couple copies of Gerald Scarfe‘s excellent new book, “The Making of Pink Floyd: The Wall.”
The book follows Gerald’s relationship with Floyd, starting in the early-’70s and concert animations for “Wish You Were Here.” It covers the evolution of “The Wall” in all its forms — album, stage show, film and Roger Waters‘s current tour.
Waters writes the book’s foreword.

I am a great admirer of Both Gerald Scarfe’s political and twisted visions from sculptures ,puppets, his contributions to Time, and of course his realizations of Roger Water’s nightmarish figures and vistas for “The WAll”. It is my favorite Water’s Concept Album-and I believe that in terms of The Wall Film and Stage Performances. The Opera would have never been the same without Gerald Scarfe’s Genius INPUT. THe music was waiting for him, and his grim twisted surrealism was waiting for Roger’s matching Music. It has been an over 30 year collaborative sychronictity, that is a strange meaningful destiny. I would love to win this book. It would bring me years of enjoyment for my life. Mr. Ronald Scott sippel
I live at 233 East Market Street, Long Beach, New York 11561 Top Floor – United States of America. May I humbly ask for an autographed photograph Mr. Waters. I Saw you and yor band Roger at The First Madison Square Garden Concert. I was the man who yelled “Maestro” So powerful;I still get chills, Please Mr. Waters and Mr. Scarfe if you can find it in tour heart and time to send an autographed reproduction of your collaboration. I would treasure it,no one would get it, until I pass away. Mr. Water’s since the age of 15 when I scraped, borrowed, and stole change to get The Wall,I have followed you. I believe you are one of the most sensible, creative open minded Men on the planet. You helped shape my moral compass from afar. Mr. Scarfe ,I too, am a visual Artist who has had my share of health problems. I was given the ticket to the Wall. It was on “My bucket List”. Mr. Scarfe your “No holds barred, free speech oriented, surreal pen and ink and gouache work is so visceral -more real than real. I’d love the book ,but a signed little print or reproduction would also be a treasure that will follow me to the grave. Mr. Scarfe ,if you only knew how your work influenced me ;to not care about offending others you would be proud, All the best in 2011 you giants ,standing on the soldiers of giants. My # in the U.S. is 516-705-9570. You are the best team ever to gravitate towards one another. The “Wall” Opera would not be the same without your patient teamwork. Thanks for your collaborative artistry. Mr. Ronald Scott Sippel
I loved this book. I think Gerald Scarfe’s work is ugly and hateful but I love Pink Floyd, Roger Waters and I think Gerald is a very interesting person and cool artist. The book is outstanding full of wonderful photos, very fascinating artwork, and a very distinctive taste of this history and this person’s relationship with the music of the Floyd during this strange era for them. And it has Two Scoops of Roger :)Plenty-O RW
